Saying no the right way
Decline a request quickly, with the real reason and, where possible, alternative dates.
Decline a request quickly, with the real reason and, where possible, alternative dates.
In short- "Decline request" is there while the request is open and the offer validity has not passed.
- Your name and a reason are required.
- For a second option or another reason, the comment is required too.
- The comment is the only place for alternative dates. The offer form has no field for them.
- If the client changes the requirements, the request opens again for you.
- On the request page, click "Decline request".
- Enter your full name.
- Pick the real reason from the list, for example not enough rooms, meeting space or capacity, terms you cannot accept, or that an offer is possible only as a second option.
- If another client holds the dates, choose the second option and suggest other dates in the comment.
- Click "Send". The client is informed, and you can log out or close the window.
- An open request gets a reminder after 3 weekdays. A quick no saves both sides time.
- The real reason tells the client what to change next time.
- After the client changes the requirements, "Create new offer" works as usual.
Why should I decline instead of not answering?
A quick, reasoned no keeps you in the client's good books, and the client knows what to change next time.
Where do I suggest other dates?
In the comment of the decline form. The offer form has no field for alternative dates.
When is the comment required?
For the second option and for another reason.
Can I still offer after declining?
Yes, if the client changes the requirements. The request then opens again for you.
